The 2024 season, CRESCENDO, was SubZero’s 10th, and our robot Lil’ Scoots made it a memorable one.
Lake Superior Regional
After going 6-3 in qualifications, SubZero was picked for Alliance 4, which finished third place overall in the playoffs. After the first two weeks of competition we were ranked 18th of the 132 Minnesota teams that had competed so far.
Colorado Regional
In March the team traveled to Denver for the Colorado Regional. We went 6-4 in qualifications, made the playoffs with Alliance 7, and the judges presented SubZero with the Team Spirit Award, which celebrates extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit through exceptional partnership and teamwork.
Between events
Back home, the team kept improving the robot by adding Amp scoring and better shots from the podium, built LED signs for the stands, hosted an ARC practice field in Esko, and prepared for our Silent Auction & Dinner fundraiser.
State Championship
In May, Lil’ Scoots went 7-1 in qualifications at the MSHSL State Championship, finishing 8th of 36.
